Father’s Day is right around the corner! This made me think about my father and all he’s done for us throughout the years. He was always a hands on type of dad- cooked meals, beach trips, took us to school, played with us, etc. I feel so blessed to have these amazing memories with him!
I’m so lucky to have found a husband who also loves to be hands on with his children. Most dads work tirelessly to provide, and still try to make time for their families. It got me thinking, we always talk about mom guilt, but have we stopped to think how dads feel? Every family home is unique, in our household, I spend most of the time with our daughter, and my step kids (when their with us). While he is an amazing father and would love to spend more time with us, his demanding job doesn’t always give him much time. I’m sure it must be hard for him to not be there as much as he would like to. That just means that our time with him is always extra special. We get creative with our time and it definetly makes for a jam packed weekend. We wouldn’t have it any other way. This Sunday, I am going to make sure he feels extra special and appreciated. Eric appreciates the smiple things – a handwritten card, simple photo book or frame and projects the kids make. But, it’s always nice buying a gift for him as well!
If you’re anything like me (these last few months that is), you waited until the last minute to buy a gift. That’s ok! I’ve rounded up some great gift ideas and with sites like amazon they can have your gift here as early as today! Isn’t that just crazy! I ordered a baby bottle at 10am and was here by 7pm once. Insane, but I love it. Dads truly deserve to know how appreciated they are. Take a peek and splurge a little on that important Father in your life.
