Thank you Allstate for sponsoring this post. I chose to write this post because doing good in local communities is at Allstate’s core.
I was excited to be a part of Allstate’s project Good Hearts, Good HandsSM, because this project is about nurturing our children’s innate compassion to make a difference.
I was excited to learn that giving back is one of Allstate’s core values and they do so through their commitment to bring prosperity, safety and well-being to their local communities.
Allstate believes that our young children can make a positive impact in our communities. They inspire our young children through community projects to empower them to become the next generation of leaders. How amazing is that?
This was a great way to spark a conversation with our own children. I believe it’s never too early to start nurturing innate compassion in our children, and to empower them to be resilient leaders of the future. When we talked about making a difference in our community, our daughter Sophia mentioned that it could be as simple as being kind. And she’s right! Making a difference doesn’t mean it has to be big. It can be as small as a smile.
We watched this video that sparked a conversation with our children. It’s so important to ignite that fire in our future young leaders! This helps to nurture and strengthen positive traits in our children. When talking to our children it’s important to remind them that it doesn’t matter how big or how small the change is. It is just important that they are starting somewhere to make a positive impact in their communities even if that means just showing kindness. When we talked to Sophia about kindness and how it helps impact our communities she said, ” When you spread happiness and love it can make the world a better place” and she couldn’t be more right!
Allstate believes in youth empowerment and that our children are not just dreaming about change, but creating it right now! I loved watching this video with my children because it showed them that by lending hands and voices to be heard in their communities, they too can make a difference. In this video you can see that they are also building important social and emotional learning skills that will help aid in their future success and make them resilient leaders. This was such a powerful video to watch and I encourage you to watch with your children as well. It’s time to spark a conversation and let our children know that they are not too small to make a powerful difference in their communities. I love that Allstate believes in and helps inspire our children to be compassionate leaders.
It is so important for this conversation to start at home. We can empower our kids to create positive change in our communities and the world. We are the gateway to self-confidence, compassion and leadership in our children. Remember they are always listening, so let’s lead by example. This year, we will be packing and distributing presents to children that will not have gifts this holiday season, right here in our community. I’m so excited to take all 3 kids -Sophia 12, Brandon 14 and Chloe 2.
