One year ago I started Blogging/This is my story

How it all began:

It was mid May 2017 and Chloe was invited to be part of a photo shoot with a small shop. I was so excited to get photos of her, so I said yes! After posting it and coming up with a cute caption I decided to Brand Rep and share more about my journey as a first time mom. I loved reading all the encouraging comments. That’s when I thought about creating a space for the modern moms to find fashion & beauty (moms can be fashionable too!) and the latest baby trends as well as my motherhood journey. A space where we can all lean on one another and feel encouraged. Let’s face it, Motherhood isn’t easy! Of course, I had no idea what I was doing or how much work it would take but decided to give it a try anyways.

Her first photoshoot with Buccio Baby Shop, she was a natural!

Why This JoyFul Life:

This Joyful Life was chosen as the name because through all that I’ve been through (divorce, heartache, dealing with anxiety & depression, miscarriages) what I learned was that we can have Joy even through our trials. We all go through things in life- good times and bad times. And happiness comes and goes, but Joy is different. Joy can be found even during our toughest times and it’s something that can only come from knowing God and being filled with the Holy Spirit. I always try to find Joy in all parts of my life, it may not be perfect or easy, but I am here living and breathing. The Joy of the Lord is my strength. It’s been an incredible journey and walk with God. And I love sharing my testimony of his Goodness and Grace.

After loss, there is a rainbow!

Taking a leap of faith:

When I hit publish on my first post I was so afraid y’all! I thought to myself, “would anyone want to hear what I have to say.” I had so many reasons not to push publish. But I did! I’m glad fear did not hold me back from something I wanted to do this time.  You see I had been playing with a idea of starting a blog for years but something always held me back….fear! I’m so happy I pushed back my fears. Yes, it was a scary thing when I first hit publish to share a vulnerable post or a photo of my life with you but I’m so glad I did!

I was passionate about something and forged ahead! I immersed myself into the blogger world by meeting people (who have been amazing) and researched until the wee hours of the morning. I became a part of the Facebook community! It’s been so incredible to find inspiring women who encourage you and are willing to help you. It’s been a lot of hard work but if you really want to do something trust me, YOU CAN DO IT!

I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone. Whether you want to start a blog or a new venture just take that next step and go for it! It will be hard and you may take one step forward and then two steps back, but don’t let that discourage you. Just keep pushing forward and always remember your why!

Chloe Grace is my why! BeBe Bow//Dress

She gives me purpose and always pushes me to be better! Amazing how much these little humans teach us.

So much changes in a year! This blog has helped me step out of my comfort zone, learn more about me, and taught me to dream bigger. There is still so much to learn and more I want to do with This Joyful Life. I hope you all stay around and continue to follow along.

Lastly, I just want to say Thank You all for following my journey! It means so much! And Thank You to all the amazing badass women I’ve met along the way for your support and constant encouragement! #communityovercompetition

  1. I started blogging a little over a year ago too, and I definitely remember being afraid to actually make it happen for a few years! I’m so glad you (and I) finally pushed away that voice that was telling us that we shouldn’t blog. This blog is such a beautiful little corner of the internet!
