My family and I were so excited to leave for our staycation at Hotel Monaco Baltimore! It’s nice to getaway from your everyday routine and explore your nearby city. Hotel Monaco is located in downtown Baltimore just 45 minutes from our home. The hotel is perfectly situated near restaurants, shopping and museums, so we were ready to explore!
We arrived in Baltimore on Sunday morning and my first stop was coffee of course! I never say no to coffee. Ceremony was a few blocks from Hotel Monaco Baltimore. We then headed to Hotel Monaco to check in.
The Hotel Monaco Baltimore building, constructed in 1906, was originally the B&O Railroad headquarters. It’s such a beautiful historic place! Inside you will find vaulted ceilings, gorgeous marble stairs & chandeliers. We were immediately impressed while walking in and the first thing that caught my eye were the marble staircases.
We headed upstairs to check in where they had refreshing strawberry infused water. Perfect for the hot day! Sophia and Brandon immediately headed for the cozy couches and our toddler Chloe went directly for the toys in the lobby. It sure made this mama happy! Chloe was entertained with Hula Hoops, books and more! Other favorite amenities are bikes to explore the city, spa, gym, complimentary coffee and wine from 5pm- 6pm.
We loved our suite just as much as the rest of the hotel. It was perfect for our family of five! Our suite had two seperate bedrooms. Sophia & Brandon had a room with bunk beds, a flat screen tv, and xbox;they were in heaven! Our room had a two full beds which would be perfect if you had an extra person and they brought a pack-n-play for Chloe.
This suite was great for a family. We would love to checkout their suites with King bed and soaking tubs for a weekend getaway sans kids. The suites are fully equipped with bar, snacks and animal print robes. You can even get one for your little ones.
After a few snacks sent up from the B&O Brasserie Restaurant we decided to venture out to explore. We walked around Mount Vernon and checked out there amazing Market! So many delicious things to try. We decided to walk towards the pier and explore some more. We ran into the American Art Museum. It was amazing and the kids enjoyed it. We also stopped to grab a bite in their restaurant, Encantada.
After walking around the pier and heading into the mall to watch fudge making we headed back to the hotel. You know, just in time for happy hour. It was just a few short blocks back to the hotel. The kids relaxed in their room and we took a walk around the hotel with Chloe before dinner.
Dinner at B&O Brasserie Restaurant :
After a long day we were really excited to just stay in the hotel and only a few steps away from our room was B&O Brasserie Restaurant. We couldn’t wait to eat! We were immediately seated when we arrived.
First things first, cocktails. They had a great selection of handcrafted cocktails but I had our waiter help me select a few to try. They were all delicious! He was so helpful and recommended the perfect cocktails for this tired mama.
The chef had a few appetizers sent to us. We couldn’t decide where to start. Everything looked so amazing! And it was my friends but I think we all decided our favorite were the Duck Wings. Guys, this is a must try! Chloe fell asleep so I was finally able to relax and enjoy the rest of our dinner.
Entrees were amazing and cooked to perfection! I had the Crabcake because when in Baltimore right?! Sophia ordered Kobe Beef Steak, Brandon ordered the Rockfish and Eric ordered one of their signature dishes, Sweet Tea Chicken. I was pleasantly surprised at how juicy this dish was. You know I always sample his meals. Definitely a must try! The best part was still to come! I say this because I have a major sweet tooth and how I was still hungry I don’t know. We tried 5 of their delicious sweets and they were gone in minutes!
Everything from the beautifully decorated space to the handcrafted cocktails to the savory meals and divine desserts made it just perfect ending to the perfect day!
With so many restaurants in Baltimore it’s nice to know that you have this great restaurant just steps away from your room. Thank you to the staff who made us feel at home!
Sponsored post but as always my opinions are 100% my own.
We had a goodnights rest but before we left Baltimore we headed to The National Aquarium. This is a must visit when in Balitmore. All the children loved the aquariums and especially watching the dolphins which is included in your admission.
We had the best time exploring Baltimore! My husband and I definitely recommend Hotel Monaco Baltimore for a family trip/staycation. We love how they cater to children as well as the adults. We were sad to say goodbye!
Until next time Baltimore! Thank you to the amazing staff that made us feel so welcomed during our staycation!
